This qualification was developed to fill a gap in the market for a broad based engineering qualification.This qualification has been developed for those learners who required a level 2 engineering qualification to provide them with a broad base of engineering understanding and knowledge either as part of an apprenticeship or as a stand-alone qualification.This qualification will also be recognised as a technical certificate within the SEMTA apprenticeship framework.This qualification has been developed in close consultation with colleges, training associations and industry to ensure that the qualification meets the needs of the engineering sector.In addition, EAL has consulted throughout the development of this qualification to ensure that the structure and content meet the industrys and the learners needs.
