Humanities - Access to Higher Education Diploma

This Access to HE Diploma course is designed to provide the necessary knowledge and academic skills to study a humanities degree or diploma course at university. This course is delivered in a variety of ways. The most popular is the daytime model run over 2.5 or 3 days a week starting in September. We also run an INTENSIVE option in the evenings and on Saturdays. This course runs between November-June and is more suited to people that are working or who cannot attend college in the daytime.Our newest offer is the new E. Access course which starts in JANUARY 2015, This course is more suitable for the more academically able applicant who is able to undertake independent research and study with minimal support using online resources and attending college on Saturdays. This also suited to people who are working full time and are not able to attend college in the daytime. Please Note :All models of study lead to the same qualification and contain the same amount of credits. The Humanities route is for those who wish to progress onto History, English Literature, Politics, law and other Humanities or Social Science degrees leading on to a range of careers in the private, public and international sectors, especially in administrative, archival, research or legal roles. You will register for the Access to HE Diploma (Humanities and Social Science). For this route you will study Academic Study Skills and History. You will also choose two subject options from: Economics; English Literature, History, Politics, Psychology or Sociology. You will also have a personal tutor who will support you during the year and who will advise you on your applications to higher education institutions.The course requires two days attendance a week. You will also be expected to undertake private study of 10-15 hrs a week in addition to this.
