You will gain experience in a wide range of countryside activities, through lectures, talks, visits, practical tasks and work experience. In particular, you will learn how to fence, lay a hedge, plant and fell trees, control pests and predators, and drive tractors. You will gain experience in a wide range of countryside management based activities, through lectures, talks, visits, practical tasks and work experience. Some of the skills you could learn include how to carry out conservation management techniques, manage woodlands, carry out surveys, manage river habitats, identify deer, control pests and predators, shoot, and drive tractors. The qualification has been developed by City and Guilds in association with Lantra and Landex so as to meet industry needs.
