BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs A*-C BTEC First Extended Certificate is equivalent to two GCSEs A*-C BTEC Certificate is equivalent to one GCSE A*-C Each course is made up of number of units, some which are compulsory and some which are optional. Each level has a number of credits attached to it and students have to complete units which accumulate to this level. Core units consist of: Working Safely and Effectively in Engineering Mathematics for Engineering Technicians Applied Electrical and Mechanical Science for Engineering There are a wide range of optional units available which are chosen by the Head of Department. Please note this course will be taught from an Art context and unit briefs will be designed to improve your knowledge, understanding and application of Art.
