Psychology attempts to explain individual behaviour and uncover general principles. The course will provide a broad introduction to Psychology as a science. It emphasises applying knowledge and understanding and will develop transferable skills of analysis, evaluation and critical thinking. Unit 1 includes: Cognitive Psychology, including memory and Eye witness testimony; Developmental Psychology, including social development, attachments and day care and Research Methods. Unit 2 includes Biological Psychology, including stress and stress management; Social Psychology, including conformity, obedience and behaviour and Individual differences, including abnormality, approaches and therapies. At A2 there is a range of options which we will discuss with you during the AS course.
