This workshop is designed to equip participants with the skills to enable them to demonstrate assertive behaviour. It will show participants that assertive behaviour is a behaviour of choice and will help them develop and apply those skills in a variety of situations at work. At the end of the programme delegates will be able to: * Understand the difference between aggressive and submissive behaviours and the impact both have on outcomes * Utilise an array of tools and techniques to enable you to think, therefore behave in an assertive manner * State a simple yet powerful definition of 'being assertive' * Understand the core elements in being assertive * Use the 6 levels of assertion toolbox * Know some techniques to aid you behaving assertively in certain situations * Practise all the techniques and tools and receive feedback This workshop is aimed at improving the communication skills of people who want to be more assertive in any area of their life. * Identifying types of behaviour * Iceberg model * Life positions * Defining assertiveness * Elements and levels of assertion * Assertion exercises
