This workshop will enable managers to understand how to get the best from your supervisions/performance reviews/appraisal systems. We will identify the skills, the process and share best practice and documentation examples. Participants will leave the workshop with a toolkit to enable their staff to engage in the review process and ensure it is not a tick box exercise! At the end of the programme delegates will be able to: * Recognise the purpose of holding performance review meetings * Identify the skills required to conduct effective performance reviews * Demonstrate good questioning to engage the appraisee in the review process * State the planning required prior to holding a quality performance review * Review current documentation to identify strengths and development areas * Write high quality SMART objectives The workshop is aimed at Line Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, Middle managers and anyone responsible for conducting performance reviews with their staff. * Preparation for an appraisal * Reviewing past performance * Communication Skills * Improving employee performance * Giving feedback * Writing SMART objectives * Documentation review
