This course is a practical course which will give you all the technical and creative knowledge you will need to either start a career in photography or go on to higher study. The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who would like a career in photography or who are progressing from level 2 courses in related subjects such as art & design or media production. You will study the following mandatory units: * Visual Recording in Art and Design * Materials, Techniques, and Processes in Art and Design * Ideas and Concepts in Art and Design * Communication Through Art and Design * Contextual Influences in Art and Design Followed by a range of optional units which will allow you to explore a wide range of photographic skills and techniques. You will learn about both traditional and digital photography whilst exploring both studio and location photography. The first year will give you a broad set of skills which will be used to develop a more personal portfolio in the second year. All LMC students will receive tutorial support.
