This practical course is an introduction to horticulture in the land-based industries where you will get the right skills to go on to the Level 2 in Horticulture or into employment. The course is suitable for school leavers and adults who want to develop personal skills and qualities required for work in the land-based industry, particularly horticulture. You will study the following: Two core units: * Safe and effective work practices in the land-based industries * Develop performance in the land-based industries One specialist unit: * Contribute to the propagation of plants Four optional units: * Work related experience * Use, transport and assist with maintenance of tools and equipment. * Produce planted designs * Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of plants All LMC students will receive tutorial support and take a programme of Functional Skills.
