This is a two year full time course geared towards a career in the fast growing sports industry. The course is suitable for school leavers and adults with an interest in this area. The course is practical and is based on work related assignments. During the course you will study: * Anatomy and Physiology * Physiology * Assessing Risk * Fitness Testing * Practical Team Sports * Leadership in Sport * Work Experience in Sport * Sports Development * Fitness Training and Programming * Exercise, Health and Lifestyle * Sports Coaching * Current Issues in Sport * Physical Education and the Care of Children and Young People * Practical Individual Sport * Rules, Regulations and Officiating in Sport * Organising Sports Events * Sports facilities and Operational Management * Instructing Physical Activity * Analysis of Sport Performance A key feature of this course is appropriate work experience in the leisure industry. All students aged 16 -19 are required to study functional English and maths qualifications or GCSE Maths, English if not already awarded an A*-C in these subjects. Students aged 19+ are strongly encouraged to take relevant maths and English qualifications to support progression into further or higher education, training or employment.
