You will study three modules: Unit 1: (F791) Global Tectonics and Geological Structures. In this module you will learn about the structure of the Earth and magnetism, Earthquakes and their distribution, continental drift, sea floor spreading, plate tectonics and hotspots and the position of the Earth within the solar system. Also included is a section on structural geology which includes folds, faults, joints and unconformity. Unit: 2 (F792) The Rock Cycle – Rock Forming Processes and Products. In this module you will learn about the rock cycle and the differences between rock groups. Unit 3: (F793) Practical Skills. This unit develops practical and investigative skills within the different contexts encountered during your course.
