UPDATED 20160203 14:36:34

Students will study the main components of Physical and Human Geography and how they inter-relate. The relevance of geographical analysis to understanding and solving human and environmental problems will be covered. Contemporary issues studied include climate change, sustainability, resource exploitation and the challenges created by population change. Knowledge, understanding and a range of key geographical skills are taught through a variety of means with an emphasis on discussion and debate. Field trips help put these processes into context, as well as enriching Sixth Form life. Geography can be studied as either an Arts or a Science subject at University and provides a bridge between these two disciplines. The subject also helps form the basis of more advanced study in numerous areas including Conservation Studies, Geology, Resource Management, Estate Management, Ecology and Planning.
