The level 2 Seated Recreational Activity certificate will equip you with the skills to teach and instruct chairbased exercise to those less mobile. It is suitable for individuals who wish to deliver chairbased exercise sessions to frailer older adults and is also relevant for those already running such sessions without a formal qualification. You will study the theory and practice of health related fitness exercises and how to deliver activity sessions suitable for frailer older clients covering the following: 1. The main physiological changes that occur to the body systems as a result of the ageing process 2. Screening tests that can be used to determine readiness to exercise for older people3. The referral routes available for older people unable to exercise4. How to deliver a safe and effective prescribed programmed chairbased exercise session to the frailer older person.
