Bradford College is the first college in West Yorkshire to offer the opportunity to study on a specific course focusing on Rugby Union. Aimed at 16-19 year olds, it will concentrate on the core values of rugby, through enjoyment in developing game playing skills, sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and respect and in achieving an academic qualification at the same time The aim of the Rugby Studies course is to attract high calibre rugby players with a view to developing their rugby talent as well as enhancing their academic study. It is available to talented male rugby players, aged between 16 and 19, who wish to follow a full-time education programme and receive expert coaching to develop their rugby ability. The Rugby Studies course will provide high quality training and coaching and the opportunity to play rugby against other Colleges and rugby playing schools, combined with a full time education programme. The association with professional coaches/RFU/Rugby clubs will enable you to have access to a higher level and more coaching than would normally be available at school or other colleges The programme is linked directly to the sports courses at Bradford College and will enable you to put the theory you learn in the classroom into practice. However, playing for the rugby team is open to any full time learner who is studying at Bradford College. Every student attending the Development Centre is required to undertake a full-time programme of educational study and this is organised to fit with the regular training and coaching.
