This course is an ideal introduction for anyone who is either considering training for a new career, or simply wants to learn a range of skills for personal use and enjoyment. It will cover three key areas of professional Floristry - wedding design, funeral design and decorative or gift work. The range of designs to be covered will include wired and hand tied bridal work such as a buttonhole, bridal bouquet and table design, a spray and wreath for funeral use and a 'designer' style gift bouquet and arrangement. You will identify and use both traditional and contemporary construction techniques, and will work with a wide range of flower materials, equipment and accessories. The last two sessions will focus on individual project choices of a design made in foam, and a bouquet or vase arrangement. Advice will also be given on how to select, buy and condition fresh materials.
