This Understanding Special Educational Needs & Disabilities in the School Setting course might be the way to equip yourself with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve this goal. You will develop knowledge of the range of SEND and have a clearer understanding of Communication Needs, Specific Learning Difficulties, Social and Emotional Needs, Physical/Sensory Needs, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and gain an awareness of strategies to support children's inclusive learning in a mainstream school setting. An essential training for everyone working or planning to work with children.

Some of the assessment methods which will be used include: setting of ILP Learning Goals. Initial assessment activities regarding individual levels of course related experience/knowledge Setting of home study tasks to enhance and consolidate learning. Observation and monitoring of individual participation. Formative assessment of class based learning and completion of home study tasks.
