Glasswork - moulds, glass and heat

Shiny, smooth, matt or textured. Glass can be formed into many shapes using a vast array of colours. This course will help you explore various mould making, fusing and slumping techniques. You will create a variety of samples in a safe and supportive workshop environment.

These may include: observation, completion of Individual Learning Plan which will be updated regularly, evaluation of work samples, question and answer sessions, photographs of projects to record achievement presented on iCEL. Entry requirements

A small charge is included in the fee for basic materials and where appropriate a charge has been included for use of specialist equipment. Learners will be expected to purchase drawing equipment, your own fusing glass and any other specialist glass required for projects. This will be discussed with the course tutor and will not be covered in the course materials fee. Please do not purchase anything before your first lesson unless requested to do so. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a course cancelled/altered at short notice. Learners are welcome to bring in their own slumping moulds if they wish; these moulds must not measure more than 30cm in length, width or diameter.
