A Level PE draws on well-established areas of stud, but also acknowledges the contemporary view of PE and sport. The ongoing development of PE and sport is a dynamic one and the challenge has been to ensure that this specification reflects this. This has been achieved by allowing students ro resarch and study sport in the local national and international arenas. Students are bery much at the centre of study. They are encouraged to review their current participation and performance in sport, identify local and national opportunities for them advancethis and, ultimately, create a life plan linked to sport participation and health. In Year 12 Students study unit 1 "Preparation in Sport and Recreation" and unit 2 " The Critical Sports Performer" In Year 13 Students study unit 3 "Preparation of Optimum Sports Performance" and uit 4 " The developing Sports Performer" Enrichment - Students will all be given opportunity to become wither gold or platinum sports ambassadors, they wil have the change to work in a number of local primary schools. Students will also have the chance to gain nationally recognised coaching and/or offciating qualifications during the two year course.
