Students study the following EDEXCEL units: Core Mathematics 1, Core Mathematics 2 and Decision Mathematics 1. AS core mathematics focuses on surds, indices, quadratics, inequalities, differentiation, integration, exponentials and logarithms, series and sequences, coordinate geometry, trigonometry and transforming graphs. Decision mathematics is a branch of applied mathematics concerned with mathematical modelling and algorithms. It includes linear programming, sorting algorithms, matching problems and solving problems involving critical path analysis.
