This course is designed for those who wish to develop counselling skills and increase their self-awareness. Successful completion of the course means you would have developed a greater self-awareness, counselling skills and an understanding of counselling and the counselling process. You will be expected to attend college on a Tuesday evening from 6pm to 9pm, plus carry out independent reading and research. The style is workshop based, with a significant amount of counselling skills practice in groups. Triad work and role-play. Mandatory Units: 01 Using counselling skills; 02 Introduction to counselling skills theories; 03 Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills; 04 Counselling skills and personal development.
