This course is made up of six individual qualifications, these are: NVQ Activity Leadership (Level 2), YMCA Assistant Gym Instructor (Level 1), BTEC Award in Understanding Stewarding for Spectator Events Award in Employability Skills (Level 1), and First Aid. This course is made up of five individual qualifications, these are: NVQ Activity Leadership (Level 2) - On this course you will learn how to plan, lead and evaluate various sports activities as well as how to work as a team, set up, store and maintain equipment. YMCA Assistant Gym Instructor (Level 1) - On this course you will learn about the gym environment and how to assist in the delivery of inductions and fitness programming as well as anatomy & physiology. NCFE Improving Personal Exercise, Health & Nutrition (Level 2) - On this course you will develop your understanding of health and exercise, look at the role of nutrition in exercise and explore the planning and preparation for exercise and nutrition. This qualification will support the theory aspect of the gym qualification. Award in Employability Skills (Level 1) - On this course you will develop knowledge of how to produce the documents required to gain employment as well as how to work in a team and resolve problems in the workplace. Functional Skills (Maths & English) - required if GCSE A-C not previously achieved, required for level 3 progression. Optional additional qualification (for small fee): First Aid - This course will be run over a full day, upon completion a HSE recognised qualification will be achieved. Methods of delivery - where possible subjects will be delivered in a practical way, however even within practical subjects there will be an element of theory and portfolio building work to be done. All subject content will be available via the college Moodle website to assist you when working away from the classroom.
