BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Health and Social Care

UPDATED 20161012 11:49:37

This two year course provides an opportunity to undertake vocationally related learning that is task based. The structure of the course does allow for a certificate if a student only wishes to study this option for one year. The course provides insight into human development, caring skills, communication skills and ethical issues, for example. In addition it allows students to explore areas of interest to them from the world of HSC work. Theoretical research is integrated with insight from real life care practitioners and practical, task based assignments. There are opportunities to work as part of a team and to research, present, reflect and evaluate, all of which are beneficial for higher education and employment.
