Men and women should wear light soled shoes - trainers or rubber soled shoes are not suitable as they are non-slip and make turning difficult when learning to dance. Ladies ideally should wear low heel closed toe shoes when first starting to dance. We do not recommend sling back or wedge heels as they do not provide the correct support and flexibility needed when learning. Tight skirts for ladies are not suitable for ballroom dancing as movement is restricted. Additional costs - learners may wish to purchase dance shoes as they progress, but this is not a requirement of the course.
