Learn all the basic techniques to make clothes for you or your family. You will work from a pattern and adjust garments to fit. Suitable for all abilities.

Entry requirements

Beginners and those with little experience are advised to seek help on pattern and sizing before purchasing material, and to choose a simple style for a first garment. If you are quite sure of your pattern sizes a pattern may be brought to the first meeting. Please also check suitability of pattern to fabric (suggested fabrics are usually on the pattern cover). Please bring scissors, pins, tape measure, machine needles, selection of threads. Sewing machines are available at the centre but you should bring your own where possible. Some course notes will be provided.
