This course has been designed to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in future business employment, or to progress on to a Top-up Degree course. It recognises the value of combining academic and vocational skills to prepare students for a career in the industry of their choice. This course consists of the following: Developing business skills Business liability Managing communicationsMarketing tools Business financeEmployment lawWork placement (May to September)Performance managementBusiness decision-makingResearch projectManagement & leadershipProduct promotionSales operations Five of the above modules will be studied in year one and four modules will be studied per year after that. A final year research project module allows students to combine many of the skills they will have developed to produce findings about a particular area of interest. This will help with their progression should they decide to top-up to an Honours Degree following successful completion of this course.
