This full-time qualification is designed to engage you with the development of your personal identity through an opportunity to explore a wide range of ideas, techniques, languages and media within fine art. This course will focus on building both specialist and multi-disciplinary skills, as well introducing you to a range of contemporary art, artists and theory. What will I Study: You will study core and specialist units, with the emphasis on building a creative portfolio that can be used to develop prospective exhibition opportunities, as a vehicle for gaining work with a range or prospective employers, or as a possible basis for gaining entrance to a final year of a degree programme. . . You will be encouraged to develop a highly-individual, ideas-based portfolio, pursuing your personal specialist interests from theory to materials and techniques. You will regularly engage with 'live projects' and talks, and an impressive track record of exhibiting work and engaging with commissions.. . Work imaginatively in fine art. Engage with contemporary fine art theory. Generate and develop creative ideas in response to a wide range of briefs. Articulate and communicate their creative intentions clearly. Show willingness to collaborate and discuss their work in group situations. Reflect critically on their activities and learning, and demonstrate intellectual enquiry. Embrace new ways of thinking and engage with a range of techniques and materials. . You will also be engaged in curating the HNC exhibitions at the College run Winns Gallery. What can I do after the course: You can progress onto the HND in Art at Waltham Forest College or, the second or third year of an honours degree (after the HND), depending on the match of the HNC/D units to the degree course in question. Alternatively, you could go straight into employment or self-employment.
