The Art & Design BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 is the second year and consists of a further 90 credits that completes the requirements for an extended qualification equivalent to 3 A Levels. The course develops and extends the essential skills for Art and Design from sketchbook to art piece. It includes drawing, painting, printing, 2D and 3D work, film, graphics, etc. You will have the chance to meet and work with visiting professional specialists, with visits to museums and exhibitions. You will also have the rewarding opportunity to exhibit your final major project in an end of year show and at the Winns Gallery. The qualification has the same academic value as 3 A levels and will give you the academic points and portfolio of work necessary to support progression to university level courses, higher apprenticeships or employment. What will I Study: Visual communication. Contextual studies. Printing. 2D and 3D work. Ceramics. CAD. English and Maths What can I do after the course: On successful completion of your first year you will have a BTEC Diploma Progression onto a HNC Art Level 4 course. . . Progression onto HNC Art Level 4 course. You could also make applications to study for a Foundation Degree or BA (Hons) Degree courses. . Alternatively, take up career opportunities in the creative industries at a junior level, an Apprenticeship, or developing your own enterprise
