The aim is to prepare learners for a career in the vehicle repair industry. The course involves modules that include the theory and practical maintenance of light vehicles, component removal/replacement, vehicle electrics/ electronics, workshop skills, project work and Health and Safety. PROGRESSION Students can progress onto work-based training (Apprenticeships) and carry out a Level 2 VRQ in industry or the IMIAL Technical Diploma in Motor Vehicle Service and Repair (Level 3) over 1 year. (Success at level 3 could lead into Engineering in Higher Education).
