You learn how to plan, cut and decorate mounts, mitre and assemble mouldings for the frames, cut glass and assemble all the pieces to a professional standard. Each session has a combination of theory and practice, with the emphasis on demonstrations and practical work. There is no class on 18th May and an extra session has been added on the end (13th July) to make the course 10 weeks logThe course introduces you to picture framing with a focus on planning, and cutting mounts to enhance your artwork. You are introduced to the key elements of a framed picture and learn the steps to creating a number of different mount designs and decorations. If you are an artist or photographer or simply want to learn to mount and frame your own art, you learn the techniques to enhance your work. You also learn to measure, mitre and assemble the moulding to make up the picture frame, and to assemble the bundle to make a frame ready to hang. By the end of the course, you should understand the steps that lead to a framed, mounted and glazed picture.
