Stained Glass Traditional and Contemporary

Explore and enhance your stained glass techniques and design skills in this short course. Make an individual panel or hanging for your home. We will focus on both traditional as well as contemporary stained glass techniques so that you can develop your own independently led glass project. Sessions will involve demonstrations and technique recaps and enhancements. The course will be run along the lines of a studio access course to allow students to work independently but with guidance and input where necessary. This course is suitable for those with previous knowledge of glass or stained glass who would like to gain some studio access time and additional technical tuition. During this course, you will gain hands-on experience of a variety of glass techniques and will explore colour, transparency, texture and layering through glass. Techniques will include: stained glass techniques, glass painting and staining, sandblasting and hand-painted resists, basic printing and working with enamels, basic fusing and inclusions, contemporary glass collage, construction and suspending techniques Group teaching and technique demonstration alongside one to one sessions will enable you to create your own glass panel. Each session will be student-led with time to practice techniques and develop a personal project.
