SQL - Introduction

This course provides a hands-on introduction to SQL. SQL or Structured Query Language is the standard language for managing, accessing and manipulating databases. This course will use MySQL which is the most popular 'Open Source' database. MySQL can be downloaded and used free of charge (for personal use) on most platforms (Intel, Mac, Unix). This course will give you a working knowledge of the basics of SQL. The course will cover the following topics: 1. Installation and configuration of MySQL 2. Creating databases and tables 3. Using SQL to retrieve/update/insert/delete data 4. Managing access with users 5. Problem solving 6. Using PHPMyAdmin
