The aim of this course is to give you the opportunity to discover and explore photography using digital cameras to produce creative images successfully. It will give you the opportunity to explore photography using appropriate visual language including composition and other formal elements.On the course you will be taught the skills and techniques of camera controls - including focus, exposure and shutter speed. You will be able to explore technical issues related to depth of field, movement and lighting e.g. natural, artificial and flash. There will be a section of the course dedicated to photographic equipment necessary to produce images related to a specific genre of photography. You will explore visual language in photography and learn to create images using formal elements of shape, form, texture, tone, colour, viewpoint, as well as composition and lighting. You will be expected to keep a workbook recording photographic ideas, processes and research on the work of other photographers. This will enable you to produce creative images using digital photography. Teaching will be through demonstrations, technical workshops, discussion and one to one guidance.
