This Level 1 course will give you the basic skills you need to design and make jewellery in a structured environment. You will be given set projects, with plenty of demonstrations, help and guidance.Your course consists of one unit which will introduce you to jewellery design, materials and processes and encourage you to investigate the potential of metal. You will experiment with different metal working techniques, including cutting, texturing, metal forming and hard-soldering. You will develop ideas and designs for the production of a brooch and a ring. Teaching will be through demonstrations, discussion and one to one guidance. You will be required to keep a sketchbook containing material samples, notes, sketches, photos, handouts, evaluations and worksheets
