This course aims to provide more complex skills in using word processing software and spreadsheet software to produce a professional document that is based around relevant workplace skills. You will also be given an introduction to using Databases. You will be provided with opportunities to increase your knowledge of using the internet so that you can use it safely and more effectively. This course develops the IT skills needed to move into administration, office or secretarial work. The course also contains the opportunity to take 2 tests in ECDL at the advanced level (Word and Excel).The Course covers the following modules and uses MicrOSOft Office. Word (formatting, applying styles, inserting images, inserting graphs, mail-merge) Excel, (formulae, functions, producing charts and graphs to analyse data) Using the Internet (research skills and communication) Database software( Enter, edit and organise data, extract information and reports) The modules are taught so that you gain knowledge of best practice and are able to evaluate the use of IT so that your work practices are efficient.
