The Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering is a credit based work-related course which is equivalent to one A level. The course is studied over one academic year and covers units of study to the value of 60 credits. Students will study the core units and predetermined optional units to the value of 40 points from the list below which, represent a broad vocational area of study. Subject Covered Core Units: Health & Safety in the Engineering Workshop Electrical and Electronic Principles OR Mechanical Principles and Applications Optional Units: Examples of optional units include: Engineering Drawing Mathematics for Technicians Electronic Devices & Circuits Engineering Secondary & Finishing Techniques Computer Aided Design Engineering Materials On Completion Successful students may progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Engineering, completing a further 60 credits of study.
