Italian Post-Beginners

A non-accredited course for those who can understand and use a limited range of words and basic phrases sufficient for survival in the target country. You will learn to take part in basic exchanges and carry out simple transaction so that your meaning is broadly clear. By the end of the course, you will be able to use language sufficient for basic interactions in the target country and for exchanges in tourist and everyday situations. You will be able to talk about your interests, using present tense with reasonable confidence. Topics covered will enable you to consolidate and extend basic vocabulary in common situations such as shopping, accommodation, leisure activities and interests, finding your way around the town or the countryside, dealing with basic emergency e.g. small ailments; and use basic correct grammar when making affirmative and negative sentences and asking questions. You will be assessed informally by your tutor during classroom activities. There will be regular opportunities to review your progress.You will complete Initial Assessment activities in the Target Language during the first session of the course, following which you will have an opportunity to discuss areas of strength and weaknesses with your tutor and agree personal targets for development.
