New students are welcome. Emphasis on working from direct observation, combined with students' personal responses to the figure. Work can be figurative or abstract or portraits from photographs. Course fee does not include cost of materials used or firing. Tutor will discuss. You will work from the life model and:- Increase your capacity to observe the human body.- Learn about human anatomy, proportions, angles.- Learn about composition.- Learn about clay properties and preservation.- Learn about armatures.- Learn how to hollow the clay figures and how to prepare them for the kiln.- Complete items and take finished work home.- Receive advice about presentation of the finished piece.
