This course offers you the opportunity to learn through vocational, practical and basic skills work and serves as a stepping stone for you to achieve progression on to further studies. You will continue to develop your Functional Skills in English and Maths, together with a wide range of subjects, leading to a Diploma in Skills for Independence and Work at entry Level 2. These subjects include; sport and leisure in the community, managing money, being a householder, dealing with problems, managing social relationships and healthy living. Learning support is a key element of this course, helping you build your confidence and gain the skills needed to progress. The emphasis of the course is on personal/individual progression as well as academic achievement.
