The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science is highly rewarding and provides a good alternative to Science AS/A2 Level. It encompasses all three science disciplines; is equivalent to three A Levels and is a valid progression route to university. This qualification consists of studying eighteen units and is taught with an emphasis on laboratory-based practical assignments, supported by self-study, presentations, group work, discussion and educational visits. You will be encouraged to complete work experience in a scientific role and we will visit places of work to prepare you for your chosen career path. The core units include; Fundamentals of Science; Working in the Science Industry; Scientific Investigation; Medical Physics Techniques and Chemical Laboratory Techniques. It is essential that students have the ability to meet deadlines.
