Opera studies 3: works in repertoire

Looking at operas coming up in the 2016-17 season, and at standard operatic repertoire, we will discuss their composition, context, controversies and style, and then hear the story of the opera through musical examples. Tutor: Pauline Greene. There will be bank holiday breaks in this course, on 2 May and 30 May.
