Classical Civilisation AS Level

UPDATED 20150825 11:39:32

Students enjoy the variety of topics covered and the way in which Classical Civilisation explores the world of the Ancient Greeks and Romans through their achievements in art and literature. From ancient times right through to the present day artists, poets and dramatists have derived inspiration from the mythology and literature of Greece and Rome. Our finest architectural styles are derived from Greek temples, such as the Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens. Western Theatre was born in Athens in the 5th Century BC. These are just a few of the ways in which Ancient Greece and Rome have shaped our present culture. Two modules are completed at AS level and these are assessed through examinations.
