• This intermediate qualification will prepare you with the essential skills to become a Childcare Worker. The course will cover children and young people’s development, safeguarding & welfare of children and young people and supporting relationships and behaviour with children and young people. There are optional units available to tailor your course towards children with learning or behavioural difficulties • You will be assigned a qualified training advisor, where learning will be undertaken by mixture of 1 to 1 sessions, group sessions, on/off the job learning and mentor support. • The course will be assessed via a range of methods which could include direct observations within a classroom or nursery setting, written/electronic portfolio, guided discussions and assignments • There would be opportunities to progress onto a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education, Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce or a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare • This course will prepare you for a Level 3 qualification where you will be able to work with children unsupervised in a number of settings including: schools, nurseries and crèches.
