The Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship in Pharmacy are designed to provide the skills you will need to work as a Dispensing Technician. Both schemes are supported by the Science and Technology Training Organisation and the National Pharmaceutical Association. You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills and apply them in the workplace. On the Apprenticeship you will work towards achieving the NVQ in Pharmacy Services Level 2 and the Pharmacy Services BTEC National Certificate Level 2. On the Advanced Apprenticeship you will work towards achieving the NVQ in Pharmacy Services Level 3 and the Pharmacy Services BTEC National Certificate Level 3. On both Apprenticeships you will work on your functional skills in English and maths. The role of a Pharmacy Technician can branch in to a number of specialised areas such as medicines management, manufacturing, quality control, clinical trials or medicines information services.
