This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to successfully start a career in the uniformed public services, such as the Police, Emergency Fire Services, Prison Service, Security or Armed Services. Units must be achieved in public service skills, land navigation by map and compass, expedition skills in public services, employment in the uniformed public services, career planning for the public services and improving health and fitness for entry to the uniformed public services. During the course there will be a variety of visits and guest speakers. In addition you will participate in a variety of activities that are physical and challenging. You will be expected to participate in the practical Sports Development programme and you can have the opportunity to compete in the British Colleges Sports League.
