Cookery - How to Cook the Basics

Is this the right course for me? This is for anyone who wants to learn to cook soups, sauces, roasts, stews and pies. You do not need any previous experience. What will I learn? Learn how the basics can be varied to create many everyday dishes for you to enjoy. The course will cover the preparation of: Soups and sauces. Stews and roasts. Pastry and pies. Learn about the importance of accurate measuring, temperature & timing, different flavour combinations and the art of creating your own delicious home-cooked food. How will I learn? There will be demonstrations and step-by-step instructions by the tutor with lots of hands-on practical cooking experience. Will I gain a qualification? You will not gain a formal qualification but you may receive a Certificate of Attendance and Achievement from your tutor if you request one at the beginning of the course. What can I do next?
