English for Classroom Assistants

This course is suitable for adults who are looking for work as a classroom or teaching assistant but still need to develop their English language, mathematics and information technology skills. As a student on the programme, you will study listening, pronunciation, reading, speaking, spelling and writing skills and learn to apply your English in a range of contexts, including school settings, mathematics and information technology situations. You will also work towards a vocational qualification. The course includes subjects like job searching, CV writing and interview preparation, and provides you with opportunities to participate in educational trips and listen to visiting speakers. All applicants are expected to have a voluntary placement in a local school for at least one AP1 per week.
