Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Foundation Degree - Part-Time

This course provides specialist studies which are directly relevant to individual vocations and professions in which students are currently working or in which they intend to seek employment. Some of the modules you will study for Level 4 include; study skills, basic mathematics, engineering design, business management techniques, engineering science, electrical and electronic principles and mathematics for engineers. At Level 5 your studies will include; materials engineering, electronics, project management, programmable logic controllers and electrical power systems (HV). Both Level 4 and 5 will include a worked-based module and you will also produce a worked-based project at Level 5 (Double). The course offers a wide range of learning experiences which cover a comprehensive range of technical units. Some of the modules you will study: - Mathematics for Engineers - Engineering Design - Engineering Science - Work-based Project - Materials Engineering - Electronics - Electrical Power Systems (HV) This course is offered in Partnership with Oxford Brookes University, Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment. Most of the students are on day release from their employment. The Foundation Degree is designed to equip students for a technical or management career in the industry. It will also provide specialist studies which are directly relevant to individual vocations and professions in which students are currently working or in which they intend to seek employment. The students will develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes for successful performance in working life. The Part Time route to this qualification will run on 1 day per week for three years (FHAG307P), and the Full Time route will be 1.5 days per week for two years (FHAG305P).
