The Level 2 Diploma consists of a combination of full and half units; four mandatory core units and four specialist units. The core units comprise of the following; applied electrical and mechanical science (half unit), mathematics for engineering technicians (half unit), working practices (half unit) and finally, using and interpreting engineering Information (half unit). The specialist units will include; secondary machining techniques (full unit), electronic circuit construction and testing (full unit), using CAD in engineering (full unit) and electronic devices and communication applications (full unit). In addition, you take a Level 1 NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations. Assessment/Exam: Units are continually assessed against grading criteria by student assignments and short tests.
