You will work collaboratively with local employers and entrepreneurs on projects and assignments that will have real impact, for example, developing a new visual merchandising strategy for local retail outlets. You will be taught by business specialist lecturers who have all had successful careers in industry including corporate banking, marketing and human resources. The qualification is made up of 18 units achieved over two years. Four core units include; the business environment, business resources, introduction to marketing and business communication and 14 specialist areas which will enable you to study particular business topics in greater depth. The specialist areas will include themes such as planning a business event, developing effective teams and understanding business ethics. We will also help and support you to develop your own business ideas by studying enterprise units including starting a small business, visual merchandising and marketing research. The Extended Diploma is equivalent to three GCE A Levels. It provides both a broad foundation of business education and a firm basis for specialism in a selected avenue of business
