The qualification is mandatory for anyone wishing to teach in the regulated sector. The qualification is also recognised as the standard for anyone wishing to teach or train in the non-regulated sector. The course consists of the following four units. 001: Roles, responsibilities and relationships in the lifelong learning sector Assessment: Write a case study of a teacher's role. Write a reflective journal entry. Credit Value: 3 002: Understanding inclusive learning and teaching in the lifelong learning sector Assessment: Investigate inclusive learning, collate ideas on how it can be made effective for a range of learners and present to the peer group. Write a reflective journal entry Credit Value: 3 003: Using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in the lifelong learning sector Assessment: Write a lesson plan. Explain your rationale for the chosen approaches to teaching and learning. Present in the form of a micro session. Write a reflective journal entry and take part in the evaluation and feedback to others. Credit Value: 3 006: Understanding the principles and practices of assessment Assessment: A combination of written statements, a professional discussion, assignment, project. Credit Value: 3
